HILLSBORO — Jesse Smith, 74, died Friday night at his Rt. 1, Hillsboro home. Mr. Smith, who lived in Hillsboro for 27 years, was a retired farmer. He was a member of Hillsboro Nazarene Church, Hillsboro Boosters Club and the Hillsboro American Legion. He was a World War I veteran. Born March 11, 1897, at Glasgow, Ky., he was married Nov. 15, 1919, to Lena Ray, who died March 10, 1969. On Oct. 21, 1970, he was married to Bertha Myers, who survives. Also surviving are three nieces and three nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. James Livingston officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. --typed by Walt W
