Smith - Flora Morris

Mrs. Flora Adora Smith, 90, mother of Morris C. Smith and Nellie Smith, died at seven o'clock Tuesday morning at her home, 902 east Market street. She had been bed fast six years and seriously ill two weeks. The daughter of Owen David and Deliah Cory Morris, pioneer Montgomery county residents of near Shannondale, Mrs. Smith was the last of a family of 10 children. After the death of her parents, Mrs. Smith made her home with an older sister, Mrs. O.H. Jones of Mace. Mrs. Smith was married January 25, 1881, near Crawfordsville, to Farnsworth A. Smith, who died 20 years ago. A daughter, Inez Smith, also preceded her in death. Active in church and community affairs most of her life, Mrs. Smith was a member of the Methodist church at Mace several years. Since coming to Crawfordsville she had been a member of the First Evangelical United Brethren church. Surviving besides the daughter and son in this city, are a grandson, Robert Morris Smith, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Hunt & Son Funeral home, with burial in the family lot at Oak Hill cemetery. Rev. George Anderson and Esther Anderson of the First Evangelical United Brethren church will officiate. Friends may pay their respects at the residence after 10 o'clock Wednesday morning. - kim h
