Waynetown – Dorman L. Smith, 75, of 4973 Sherwood Cove, Lake Holiday died 10:14 p.m. Saturday in the Emergency Room at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. Mr. Smith retired in 1974 from the I & S Freightline the old McDaniel Freightline after 30 years. Born Feb 13, 1912 near Alamo he was a 1931 graduate of Alamo HS. He was married March 19, 1933 in Terre Haute to Hildred Haas of Waynetown. She survives. Mr. Smith was a member of Waynetown United Methodist Church; Waynetown Masonic Lodge 302; Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 435; and Lake Holiday Homeowners Association. Surviving with the widow are a son, Larry Smith of Carmel and a brother, Robert E. Smith of Crawfordsville. – kbz

Waynetown - Dorman Smith, 73, of 4973 Sherwood Cover, Lake Holiday, formerly of Waynetown died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday in the Emergency Room of Culver Union Hospital, Crawfordsville. He retired in 1974 after 30 years with I&S McDaniel Freight Line. His memberships included Waynetown Masonic Lodge 303, Waynetown OES 435, Waynetown United Methodist Church and Lake Holiday Homeowners Association. He was a 1982 graduate of Alamo HS. Mr. Smith was born Feb 13, 1912 near Alamo a son of Carl and Ola Westfall Smith. He married Hildred Haas of Waynetown on March 19, 1933. Also surviving is a son, Larry of Carmel; a brother, Robert Smith of Crawfordsville and three grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death. Services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Alan Rumble officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. - kbz
