David D. Smith died at his home on the corner of Plum and Fremont Streets, Sunday morning at 7:30 o’clock of lung trouble, from which he had suffered for many years. Mr. Smith was 74 years of age. He moved from Butler County, Ohio, to this county when but ten years of age. Fifty years ago he married Miss Linn, of Mace, and to them were born six children, three of whom together with Mrs. Smith, survive to mourn their loss, and who have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.
Mr. Smith had been a consistent member of the First Presbyterian Church of this city for forty years. He was an honest, industrious man, respected by all who knew him, and will be much missed in his circle of friends.
The funeral took place at 2 p.m. o’clock Monday from the First Presbyterian Church.
