THORNTOWN – Kathleen Sloan, 80, Hazelrigg, died at 7:05 a.m. today in the English Nursing Home at Lebanon after an extended illness. She was employed as a telephone operator in Thorntown. She was a life resident of the Hazelrigg and Thorntown areas in Boone County and lived in the same house in Hazelrigg for more than 50 years. She was born Oct. 17, 1895. She married Carry David Sloan on April 9, 1918, at Lebanon. He preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1964. Survivors are a brother, Carl Gant of Thorntown; and a sister, Mrs. Alta Hodges of Thorntown. She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Sunderland. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Russell & Hitch Funeral Home at Lebanon with the Rev. Roger Fisk officiating. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
