Many beautiful floral designs manifested sympathy and regret at the funeral services for the late Claude Albert Sloan, held on Saturday afternoon and being attended by a large number of sorrowing friends. Conducted under auspices of the IOOF Rev WB McIntosh gave a very impressive addresss, speaking from the First Thess IV: 13 – “I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep; that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.” Son of the late WF and Mary Musser Sloan, the late Claude Albert Sloan was born at Maynetown (sic – Waynetown) Indiana August 15, 1876. He leaves to mourn, his wife and three children, Mrs. AK Hemstreet of Walcott; Mrs. FJ Richmond of Blue River, BC and Harry at home. There is also one sister in Indiana and five grandchildren. He united with the Waynetown Christian Church when a boy, also the IOOF lodge at that place at the age of 21 years. The pallbearers were JS Gray; R Collisen; A Washbern/ J. Green; M. Norton; C.
