HILLSBORO, Ind. (CNS) -- Mrs. Fanny Slazas, 85, a resident of the Hillsboro community for the past 61 years, died Wednesday (July 14, 1971) at the Americana Convalescent Center at Lafayette. She had been a patient there eight months. Born April 16, 1886, near Warsaw, Poland, she was the daughter of Stanley and Lucy Witt. She was married in October 1901 at Westville, Ill., to Joseph Slazas, who died in 1943. Mrs. Slazas came to Hillsboro from Danville. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, WSCS, Pythian Sisters and Fountain County Chorus. Survivors include two sons, John of Kingman and George of Veedersburg; three daughters, Mrs. Lucy Crumley of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Nell Nusbaum of Lancaster, Ohio, and Mrs. Roberta Brokaw of Fort Branch, Ind.; a half brother, Alfred Bender of Danville; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a brother and a sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home. The Rev. Walter C. Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Friday. --typed by Walt W
