Thomas A. Slavens, 60, of Rt. 1, died Monday afternoon in Robert Long Hospital at Indianapolis, where he had been a patient since last Tuesday. Mr. Slavens was a salesman for Perry Lewis Ford Co., Inc. He was born Feb. 19, 1908 in North Dakota, a son of Thomas Jay and Angeline Waggoner Slavens. He was married Feb. 2, 1932 to Laila Pearl Wills, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. ( Joyce) Roger Miller of Frankfort, Mrs. (Janice) Robert Myers of South Bend and Mrs. (Darcy Jane) Stan Hultz of Homestead, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Herron of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Robert Quillin of Punto Gorda, Fla.; a brother, Howard Slavens of Crawfordsville, and six grandchildren. A brother, Edward, preceded him in death. Services will be held in the Bright Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Nelson S. Scott of the Smartsburg Christian Church officiating. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
