Slavens - Charles D.

Waynetown - Charles D. Slavens, 77, died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at his home six miles northeast of here. He had been ill two days, suffering from a heart ailment. Born March 8, 1883, three miles southeast of here, he was the son of James and Susan Shanklin Sanders. He was married in January 1906 at Crawfordsville to Flossie Jordon. She died in 1950. Mr. Slavens was a member of the Liberty Chapel Church and attended potts School. He was a farmer and lived his entire life in Montgomery County. Surviving are a nephew and niece who were reared in the Sanders (sic ? Slavens?) home, Phillip Biddle of Waynetown and Mrs. Beecher Young of Crawfordsville. He was preceded in death by two infant daughtesr. Funeral services are announced for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Servies Funeral Home here with Rev Guy E. Tremaine in charge. Burial in Wesley Cemetery.
