William H. SMITH, better known to the older people of Waveland  so "Butcher Billy" died in the Masonic Home at Franklin on  Tuesday at the age of 82. His death was unexpected, as relatives  visiting him on Sunday, found him in bed with what was thought to  be a slight cold. He was born on the farm now owned by Garrie  Dillman. His parents died when he was small and he was raised by  Mr. and Mrs. Joel Deere. He spent the greater part of his life in  and around Waveland. He was an expert meat cutter and worked for  several different shops. He was always kindly and obliging and  liked by everybody. He belonged to Waveland Masonic Lodge for 42  years. Funeral services were held at the Home Chapel this morning  at 11. Burial in the Home Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. TN Johnson; Mrs.  EG Bowen; Mrs. Gordon Robison and Miss Ruth Titus attended the  funeral.
