Waveland Lodge #300 F&AM, whereas Peter K. SMITH departed this life May 6, 1898-resolved that while we submisively bow to the will of Him who doeth all things well trusting that our loss is his eternal gain yet we feel in the death of brother Smith our order has been deprived of one of its warmest friends the commencing of a good citizen and one who was ever ready to help in time of need

P. K. Smith, an old citizen of this place, died last Friday morning of Bright’s disease. The funeral was held in the Baptist Church of which he was a member. Services were conducted by Rev. Cuppy. He was an old Mexican soldier and was seventy four years old.
