John Whitney Smith, fourth son of Enoch R. and Margaret A. Smith, was b. in Fayette Co, Ky Jan 21, 1853. he was killed by the cars near Renssalaer, Ind. on the LNA & C RR Nov. 11, 1885 age 32 years, 9 months and 12 days. The r.r. company has lost one of its most efficient and trusty employees as has been shown by the attention and sympathy of his assoc. and offices of the railroad.
