Lafayette -- Billy A. Smith, 42, died at 12:25
p.m. Friday at Home Hospital here after suffering a heart attack. He
was working at the Alcoa Plant when he was stricken. Mr. Smith was born
in Crawfordsville on June 18, 1927 to Jewell K. and Waneta Ross Smith.
On May 27, 1949 he married Helen Suter. He was a member of the Colfax
Christian Church a veteran of WWII and had lived in Mulberry the past 4
years. Survivors include the widow; a sister, Mrs. Carolyn Ackermann of
Monticello, Iowa, a brother Richard Wayne Smith of Crawfordsville; and
five sons, Roger in the Panama Canal Zone with the air Force, Garry,
Raymond, Robert and John. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at
Johnson Funeral Home at Mulberry with Rev. Sherill Fritts officiating.
Interment will be in Plainview Cemetery at Colfax. Friends may call at
