Linden Feb 10 - Frozen to death, the body of George Siterdine, an unmarried farm hand about 45 years of age, was found at 9 o'clock this morning near a straw stack on the farm of Randolph Baxter, two miles north of Linden. By the side of Siterdine's cold, lifeless body were his rifle, shot gung, revolver and suit case. Mr. Baxter stumble dupon the man's body while he was out in his field working. The body was soon removed to the home of Joseph Riley nearby, and Coroner SE Jones of New Richmond, was summoned.
Just how Siterdine happened to be in the field previous to his death is surrounded in mystery. He was seen walking through there Sunday evening. His dog was with him, but this morning the dog was not found near the body. For the past few days it is understood, Siterdine had been drinking heavily and he may have been still under the influence of liquor when he started across the field Sunday. It is the theory that he became somewhat exhausted and sat down beside the straw stack to rest.
For the past few years Siterdine had been employed on the farm of William Hooper, northwest of Linden. He was a native of Germany and came to Linden several years ago. He has a brother, Will Siterdine, working at th eplant of the American Milligan Company at Linden. Neither of the men was married. - kbz
