WINGATE— John H. Singleton, 84-year-o1d resident of Rt. 1 Wingate, died at 6 p.m. Thursday at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where he had been a patient for five days. Mr. Singleton was born in Eubank, Ky. on Oct. 8, 1881, a son of William and Martha Cullet Singleton. He was married to Belle Spears on Aug. 15, 1909. A member of the Wingate Christian Church, he came to the Wingate-New Richmond area in 1913. He has farmed since moving to Indiana and has lived one mile east of Wingate since 1930. Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Hays and Mrs. Pauline Bacon, both of Rt. 1 Wingate; a grandson, John C. Bacon of Rt. 1 Wingate; a great-granddaughter, Tresa Bacon; a sister, Mrs. Maude Mercer of Somerset, Ky., and nieces and nephews

John H. Singleton, 84, of Wingate Route 1, died at 6 p.m. yesterday (May 26,
1966) in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville, where he had been a patient five
days. He had been ill one year. He was born Oct. 8, 1881, at Eubanks, Ky. He
was married Aug. 15, 1909, to Belle Stears who survives. He had resided in
Indiana since 1913. He was a farmer. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs.
Gladys Hayes and Mrs. Pauline Bacon both of Wingate Route 1; a grandson and one
great-grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Maude Mercer of Somerset, Ky. He was a
member of the Wingate Christian Church. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at
the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown with the Rev. Scott Comrie officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home after 4:30 p.m. Saturday. – jlr
