Simpson - Samuel McKee

Samuel McKee Simpson, 101 year-old native of Crawfordsville died recently at his home in Palo Alto, Cal., according to word received here.
Mr. Simpson, died last Wednesday, July 6, at the residence of his daughter, Miss Laura Elizabeth Simpson, 1026 Channing avenue, in Palo Alto. He and Mrs. Simpson, who preceded him in death went to California in 1919 when their daughter entered Leland Stanford university, Miss Simpson now is in charge of the senior department of Miss Harker's school for girls in Palo Alto.
Mr. Simpson was born April 26, 1848, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Simpson. He was married to Sallie Ellen Weeks, who preceded him in death. Mr. McKee moved to Minnesota more than half-century ago. For a number of years he was employed as a saddler and later became an insurance agent before moving on to the west 30 years ago. In spite of his advanced age, Mr. Simpson had been exceptionally active until a year ago when he became confined to his home. The survivors include the daughter, a nephew, William Simpson of this city, a great nephew, Stanley Simpson, and a great niece, Sue Simpson, both of this city.
Funeral services were held at Alto Saints Episcopal church in Palo Alto. Cremation followed at Alta Mesa memorial park in Palo Alto - thanks to Kim H
