Funearl services were conducted Thursday at 2:30 at the Browns Valley Christian Church for Ray SIMPSON. The Rev. Grover DeNeal officiated and burial was made in Indian Creek Cemetery. =kbz

Ray E. Simpson, 64, died Monday night at his home near Browns Valley. He had been ill with heart trouble for 89 years. He was born June 17 (no year listed) near Waveland, the son of Catherine and Charles Simpson. He was graduated from Waveland HS and has been a farmer all his life. In June 1908, he married Grace Peters at Crawfordville. He is survived by his mother, his wife; two daughters, Doris Jeffries and Ruby Moody; 7 sons, Bert, Lowell, Forrest, Charles, Gerald, Austin & Donald; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. All of the children live near Browns Valley except Austin, who is in Colorado with the Army and Donald who is in Germany with the Army. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but friends may call at the home two miles east of Browns Valley. -- kbz

Funeral services for Ray Simpson, 64 will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Browns Valley Christian Church, Rev. Grover DeNeal will officiate. The body will lie in state for one hour before the services. Friends may call at the home two miles east of Browns Valley. Mr. Simpson died Monday night at his home after being ill with heart trouble for 8 years.
