Waynetown – Mrs. Lula Shurr Simpson 79, died at 1 a.m. Sunday in a Lansing, Mich hospital after an illness of several months. A native of Waynetown, she was born Sept 27, 1887, a daughter of Dolph and Isabell Colcalzer Shurr. She married Kirt J. Simpson. She was a member of the Waynetown Methodist Church and had been educated in the Waynetown Schools. She lived here until 1930 and had lived in Lansing, many years. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Ingersoll; two sons, Harold of Lansing and Stanley of Dallas; a brother, Walter Shurr of Danville, Ill; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Servies Funeral Home here with Rev. Guy E. Tremaine and Rev. Raymond Rhoda officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial services will be held in Lansing Tuesday. – kbz
