Waveland – Lowell B. Simpson, 70, of Rt. 1, Waveland, died Wednesday in Culver Union Hospital at Crawfordsville. A retired farmer, he had been elected Brown Township trustee in 1986 and was to take office Jan. 1. A 1933 graduate of Waveland High School, his memberships included Covenant United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 200 and Order of Easter Star Chapter 539, all at Waveland, and Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite. Mr. Simpson was born May 4, 1916, at New Market, to Ray E. and Lilly Grace Peters Simpson. He married Bettie Fulwider on April 25, 1942, at Crawfordsville. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Dale and Malcolm of Waveland; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Doris) Bazzani of Waveland; five brothers, Charles and Donald of Waveland, Forrest of Russellville, Austin of New Market and Gerald Lee of Ladoga; and several nieces and nephews. Services are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Machledt & Services Funeral Home at Waveland with the Rev. Jay A. Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home where Masonic rites will be conducted at 6 p.m.
