VEEDERSBURG — Guy M. Simpson, lifelong resident of the Veedersburg community, died at 4:40 a.m. Thursday in Lake View Memorial Hospital at Danville. Mr. Simpson, 78, was admitted to the hospital four days before his death and had been in failing health for several months. He operated a farm two miles north of Veedersburg before his retirement and had also served as assessor of Van Buren Township for several years. The deceased was a member of the Modern Woodmen and the Fountain County Farm Bureau. Born on Aug. 4, 1890, he was the son of William and Mary Minnick Simpson. He was married to Carrie Roberts on Oct. 15, 1912. His wife survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Mary Alice Lechner of Indianapolis, Mrs. Frances Clore of Cincinnati and Dorothy Keeling of the Marshall Islands, Pacific Trust Territory. Mrs. Keeling's husband is serving with the Army there. Services are pending at the Parham Funeral Home. --typed by Walt W
