Clifford Thornton Simpson, 58, former Borden's Dairy and Harris Packing Company employe, died at 11 a.m. Tuesday at his residence, 412 Tinsley Ave. He had been ill several weeks. Mr. Simpson was born April 16, 1908, in Sullivan County, Indiana, the son of Bishop and Carrie Burris Simpson. He married Eythel Wade July 25, 1931 at Vincennes. The deceased was a member of the Eagles Lodge. He had worked for Borden's the past 12 years and prior to that was with the Harris firm for 20 years. Surviving, in addition to the widow, are three sons, Larry Dewayne Simpson, Edgar Dean Simpson and Howard Lee Simpson, all of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Karen Kay Taylor of Brownsburg; a half-brother, Henry Worth of Overland Park, Kan., and 13 grandchildren. Two grandchildren preceded him in death. Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home in charge of Rev. R. L. Covington. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
