Simms - Mary Davenport

Tuesday evening, Mrs. Simms, wife of Enoch Simms of Madison Township while assisting her husband in burning stalks was fatally burned. Her clothes became ignired from the burning stalks and before aid could reach her every shred of cloth was burned from her body, her flesh blistered and nail's peeling off her fingers. Notwithstanding her terrible suffering, Mrs. Simms walked to the house of a distance of 200 yards. The funeral took place Thursday at 10:00 a.m. - kbz
