Simmons - Johnnie William

LADOGA – Johnnie William Simmons, former resident of Ladoga, died Friday night in Perry, Ga., after a brief illness. Simmons was born in Plainfield, Ind., Nov. 20, 1908, and moved to Perry, Ga., 14 years ago. He was a farmer, and a member of the Masonic order, Odd Fellows and Farm Bureau. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Wealthy Waidlow Simmons of Perry; a daughter, Mrs. Jimmy McDaniel of Perry; a son, David E. Simmons of New Ross; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Simmons of Indianapolis and Mrs. Arthur Smith of Muncie; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday at the Perry First Baptist Church at 3 p.m. with Rev. Dan Hodges officiating. Burial will be in Perry Memorial Gardens. – jlr
