HILLSBORO — Mrs. Flossie Simmons, 77, of near Hillsboro, died at 12:10 a.m. Monday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. A daughter of William and Mahala Bowden Keller, she was born Sept. 5, 1890 in Jackson Township, Fountain County. She first married Charles Krout on April 23, 1907. Twelve children were born to them, seven of whom are living. Her second marriage was in 1939 to Al Simmons. Survivors include these children: Lavena and Robert, at home; Lee, Mrs. Ellen Taylor and Mrs. Ruth VanGilder, all of Potomac, Ill., Mrs. Imogene Cooksey, and Theron of Indianapolis. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Effie Lighty of Veedersburg, and three brothers, Howard of Potomac, Ill., Erron of Logansport and Harry of Crawfordsville. Funeral rites are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Rev. John Servies officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery at Wallace.
