MELLOTT, Ind. (CNS) -- Mrs. Barbara DeArmond Simmons, 75, a resident of this community 38 years, died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday (June 21, 1958) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. In ill health for a year, she had been a patient the past week. Mrs. Simmons, a member of the Elmdale Church near Wingate, was born May 9, 1883, in New Richmond, Ind., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry DeArmond. She was married in Mellott in 1920 to I. M. Simmons, who died in 1940. Previously she was married to Charles Williams, who preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Marvin Williams of Mellott; three daughters, Mrs. Howard Cutler of Danville, Ill., Mrs. Levy Cooper of Attica and Mrs. Claude McCauley of Wingate Rural Route; a sister, Mrs. Blanch Petro of Lafayette; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The body is at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Services will be at 2 p.m. (DST) Monday at the Mellott Congregational Christian Church. The Rev. R. H. Peters will officiate with burial in Murray Cemetery southeast of Mellott. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Saturday.
