Yesterday afternoon at her home in New Market occured the death of Mrs. Susan H. Sidener, relict of the late H. Ewing Sidener. Her health had not been good for some time and the end was brought about by a complication of grip and lung trouble. The deceased was the eldest daughter of John Britton, deceased, one of the county's very prominent pioneer citizens and a sister of WP and Walter Britton, Mrs. John Robinson and Mrs. Harry Palmer of this city. She was 52 and 30 years ago was married to H.E. Sidener. One son, William blessed the union. Mrs. Sidener was a consistent Christian lady and her kindly disposition and gentle manner won many friends who mourn her death with all sincerity. The funeral will be conducted at the Christian Church at New Market at 10 o'clock tomorrow by Rev. H.M. McCalip. The remains will be brought here for interment at Masonic Cemetery - transcribed by kbz

As announced briefly in yesterday’s Journal, the death of Mrs. Susan Sidener, the widow of the late H. E. Sidener, occurred yesterday afternoon at New Market. The funeral will occur there tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock conducted by Elder McCalip. The interment will occur here at the Masonic Cemetery.
Mrs. Sidener was born west of Yountsville, in this county, fifty two years ago and lived here all her life. She was the daughter of John Britton and was married thirty years ago to H. E. Sidener. Their son, Will Sidener, survives them as does an adopted daughter sixteen years of age.
Mrs. Sidener was a most amiable and lovable lady and her death will be sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends.
