Sicks - Zula Ward

Mrs. Zulu Sicks, 88, of Carmen Nursing Home, died there at 11:05 a.m. Friday. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Farm Women Leader Club, South Union Township Farm Bureau, Culver Hospital Guild, Crawfordsville Extension Club and South Union Township Extension Club. Born Feb. 15, 1889, near Mace, she was a daughter of John W. and Mary Linn Ward. She married Marshall Jack Sicks on Feb. 12, 1908. He died Feb. 14, 1970. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wallace (Elizabeth) Whetsell of Brownsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Peck of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Alice Boots of Darlington; and a grandson, Dennis Whetsell of Brownsburg. Three sisters and four brothers are deceased. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Little officiating. Burial will be in Mace K of P Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday. – jlr
