Sigmond - Martha Reed

Mrs. Martha E. Sigmond, widow of Dr. PG Sigmond, d. at her home in this city at half-past 3 this morning after an illness of 16 weeks of organic heart and kidney trouble. When she was first attacked by the disease it was thought she would not long survive. She rallied, however, but was not able to leave her bed afterward. For weeks she felt the end was near at hand, but never lost her kindly smile nor spared a cheerful word. she was a good Christian woman and was a member of the Methodist Church south. she attended the Methodist Church here but did not transfer her membership from the Church at Garden Lake, Ark; where she resided before coming to In. She came here from Jeffersonville in 1902 and was since resided with her son, Dr. H.W. Sigmond. She leaves four children living. They are Mrs. George K. Cracraft of Grand Lake, Ark; Mrs. W.E. Hedgcock of St. Louis, Dr. R.H. Sigmond of Durango, Old Mexico; and Dr. Sigmond of this city. Frank, Effie and Lenora are dead. The time for the funeral can not be determined until later on account of the absence of Mrs. Cracraft. - typed by kbz
