Shumate, 79, died at 2:28 p.m. Tuesday Nov 4 in his home at 1802 Country Club
Road. Born Feb 7, 1918 in Linden, he was a 1936 graduate of Linden HS. He was a
member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Shumate was a sales engineer for WH
Hutchison & Co of Chicago and founder of Larned Sales Co of Crawfordsville.
His marriage was to Dorothy Winger Aug 15, 1937 in Danville. She preceded him
in death Dec 27, 1995. Surviving are two sons, Rondal Shumate of Lafayette and
Michael D. Shumate of Jupiter, Fla.
