Newtown - Murray Isaac Shultz, 91, retired farmer of near Newtown, died at 6 p.m. Thursday at Culver Hospital. He had been a patient there six days. Born near Newtown November 25, 1874, he was the son of Thomas and Clara Gray Shultz. He married Blanche VanderVolgen June 1, 1904. His wife preceded him in death on March 27, 1936. He was a member of the Newtown Presbyterian Church. He had been a member of the Newtown Band for 50 years. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Emerson Wolfe, who resides in the family home one mile north of Newtown; a brother, T.C. Shultz of Newtown; a granddaughter, Mrs. Kenneth Kaufman of Lafayette and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Peter Heemstra in charge. Burial will be in the Newtown Cemetery. - kbz
