WAYNETOWN — Mrs. Leona (Mom) Shultz, 78, resident of Waynetown since 1918, died here at 8:25 a.m. Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Kunkel. She had been seriously ill for the past six months. Mrs. Shultz was born Oct. 7, 1887, at Cadiz, Ky., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Messmore. She was married May 20, 1903 to Morris H. Shultz, who died in 1955. Mrs. Shultz was a member of the Waynetown Methodist Church and a charter member of the Women's Society of Christian Service. She also belonged to the Pythian Sisters at Newtown. She was a former employe of Jack Cook's Grill on South Washington Street in Crawfordsville. She was educated in the Newtown area. Surviving, in addition to the daughter at whose home she died, are a foster daughter, Mrs. Carl Palin of near West Point; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Adams of Lafayette and Mrs. Annie Flood of Dearborn, Mich., and two grandchildren, Dale and Cheryl Kunkel. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown in charge of Rev. Raymond R. Rhoda and Rev. G. E. Tremaine. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary.
