YOUNTSVILLE — Fred R. Shull, 74, of Yountsville, died early Thursday morning in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. Mr. Shull had been a patient for 16 days. He was born May 8, 1896, near Colfax to William and Elmira McCarter Shull. He married Garnet F. Foster at Romney on Nov. 27, 1917. Mr. Shull was a member of Linden Christian Church. He was a charter member of Wingate American Legion. He graduated from Wingate High School and Indiana Business College. He was a barber for 47 years in the Wingate, Linden and Crawfordsville areas. He was a veteran of World War I. He served as a barber in the Army. Surviving are his widow; five sons, Dallas of Crawfordsville, Fred Jr. of Martinsville, Robert of Ladoga, William of Flora and Richard of Earl Park; two daughters, Mrs. Clara Lea Taylor of Indianapolis and Miss Ruth Ann Shull of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Mrs. Ann Lockwood of Indianapolis, Mrs. Mae Van Cleave of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Mearl Eggers of Wingate; 26 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dean, and an infant daughter. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Homer Huntsinger of Lebanon officiating. Burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday.
