Shuler - Sarah Harlow

Waynetown, March 1 - Mrs. Sarah E. Shuler passed away at her home at 3 o'clock this morning after an illness of a week resulting from the infirmities of old age. She has resided in this town for 21 years and because of her charitable and social qualifications was one of the best known women in this part of the country. She was a member of Waynetown Baptist Church and had always taken a deep interest in all activities of the church. Mrs. Shuler was born on Nov 30, 1841 near Browns Valley and was the daughter of John and Rachel McKinney Harlow. She was married on December 4, 1862 to Samuel R. Shuler and 3 children were born to this union, two of whom died in childhood. She is survived by her husband and a son, J.W. Shuler of this place and a grandson, Dr. Lacey Shuler of Indianapolis. Mrs. Shuler was the last of her family none of her brothers or sisters surviving her. A private funeral service will be held at the home at 1:45 o'clock on Friday afternoon and the body will then be removed to the Christian Church where it will lie in state from 2 to 2:30 o'clock. Services will be held in the church at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W.E. Zimmerman pastor of the Baptist Church and Rev. W.D. Headrick of Indianapolis. Interment in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
