Shular - Mary Hall

Mrs. Mary Shular died last night at Culver Union Hospital from complications caused by the infirmaties of old age. She had been ill for several months but serious since September 20. At the time of her death she was 83 years old. Mary J. Shular (nee Hall) was born in Kentucky March 15, 1835, and came to this city when a small girl riding horseback with her parents who were among the early settlers of the county. She was married to Lewis SHular who was one of the pioneers of the count yand who preceded her in death two years ago last April. The deceased is survived by one son, William Shular and three grandchildren, besides other relatives. Mrs. Shular was a devout member of the Christian Church. She has lived in this city practically all her useful life, loved and respected by all who knew her. The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon from the home at 719 South Washington Street at 2 o'clock and will be in charge of Rev. Oliphant. -- kbz
