A.W. Shrader, familiarly known about town and over the county as “Swamp College” in view of the fact that he corresponded for the Journal from a country neighborhood of that name, died very suddenly at his home on Sunday morning. Mr. Shrader was a kindly man, and while peculiar and eccentric, was thoroughly liked by all who knew him. His familiar figure will be missed by many.

Andrew W. Shrader died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1896. He was born in December, 1853, and was therefore 42 years and 11 months old. It is thought that a blood vessel burst in his head and caused his death. He was as well as usual on Saturday and went to Russellville. Returning home he ate a hearty supper and retired to bed, but took sick Sunday morning at 3 o’clock and died a few moments later. He was a member of the Christian Church at Hebron. The readers of the Journal will miss the Swamp College correspondent. The funeral was conducted Monday evening at 3 o’clock at Russellville in the M. E. Church. Rev. Prather, of this place, conducted the services. The remains were interred in the Russellville Cemetery. He has one brother, many relatives and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
