Nell Shortridge, 84, of Prairie Village Kansas a former Crawfordsville resident died Sunday morning in Cheyenne Mission Medical Center, Prairie Village. Mrs. Shortridge was retired from Ben Hur Life Insurance. She moved from the Crawfordsville area 4 years ago. Mrs. Shortridge was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she served as church pianist for many years. She was a graduate from Crawfordsville HS and Indianapolis Conservatory of Music. Born August 27, 1892, at LaMar, MO she was a daughter of Dr. William G. and Mary Jell Swank. Surviving are two sons, Robert of Prairie Village and John of Lafayette; a daughter, Marjorie Mason of Decatur, Ill; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A daughter, Mary Jane and 3 brothers are deceased. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Jump oficiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. - kbz

Mrs. Nell Shortridge, 84 of 4409 W 78th, Prairie Village died Sunday at Shawnee Mission Hospital. She was born in Lamar, Mo and had lived in Crawfordsville, Ind before moving to this area 4 years ago. Mrs. Shortridge was a secretary for the Ben Hur Life Insurance Company in Crawfordsville before she retired. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church there. She leaves two sons, Robert Shortridge of the home and John Shortridge, Lafayette, Ind; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Mason, Decatur, Ill; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Services and burial will be Thursday in Crawfordsville. – kbz
