-- Cloyd W. SHORT, 36, former resident of Crawfordsville and native of Waveland was killed instantly Saturday in a traffic accident north of LaPorte. The accident victim had been living in MIchigan City. According to officers Short lost control of his car on a country road and crashed into two trees 30 feet apart. His body was thrown from the car and under a bush at the side of the road. Short was reported by investigating officers to have had a skull fracture, broken neck and internal injuries. The accident victim was born in Waveland, the son of Ray and Eva Short. He was married June 26, 1953 at Michigan City to Eva Wright (sic - his mother was Eva Wright). He had been employed at CA Dunham & Bush Co. in Michigan City as machine operator. The survivors include the parents who live in Waveland, the widow; a son, Charles, a daughter Juanita, a brother, Loren and two sisters, Eileen Goodman and Eloise Everman. Funearl services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rock Funeral Home, Michigan City with Rev. Stewart Robinson in charge. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City. -- kbz
