Claude V. Shoaf, a farmer living near Waveland died yesterday afternoon at 12:45 o'clock at his home, following an illness of spinal meningitis. Mr. Shoaf was born April 30, 1887 in Parke County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Shoaf. He was married to Madge James in 1906. He had been ill since Aug 16. Deceased was a member of the Waveland Christian Church and was prominently identified with the affairs of the Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias lodges here. Mr. Shoaf is survived by his widow and four children. Donovan, Wayne, Norma and Eileen; his father and one sister. Funeral services will be conducted Fri. afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. James C. Burkhardt of the Christian Church of Crawfordsville.

Claude Shoaf was taken seriously ill on Thursday of last week and died at one o'clock on Wed. afternoon. His malady was diagnosed as a form of spinal trouble akin to infantile paralysis. As this disease is considered to be infectious the fun. services this afternoon at the home North of Townn at two o'clock will be private. Burial at Maple Ridge. ================
