ROACHDALE – James W. Sherritt, 51, died suddenly at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at General Hospital in Indianapolis. Mr. Sherritt became ill at his place of employment, the E. L. Ross Co. and was rushed to the hospital where he died shortly afterward. His wife, the former Era Morphew, survives. The couple resided at 930 N. Alabama St. in Indianapolis. The deceased had been employed as an interior decorator by the Ross firm since 1953. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 17 in Indianapolis. Born on Nov. 13, 1916 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of John Ross and Myrtle Kitchen Sheritt. His marriage to Miss Morphew was solemnized in 1953 in Greenfield. Surviving besides the widow are a brother, Samuel, and a sister, Marie, both of Columbus. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Britton in charge. Burial will be in Roachdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. -– jlr
