WAVELAND – Mrs. Lucille Sherman, 58, resident of the Byron community since 1965, died at 1:50 a.m. Monday at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Mrs. Sherman, whose husband survives, had been in failing health the last eight years. The deceased was a member of the Judson Baptist Church and its Ladies Aid Society. Before coming to Byron, the Shermans resided in Rockville. Mrs. Sherman was a graduate of Hillsdale High School. A daughter of Rollie and Louise Shane Hill, she was born on July 28, 1909, in Scotland, Ill. Her marriage to Judy Sherman was solemnized on Jan. 31, 1931, in Terre Haute. Surviving besides the husband are a son, Dean J. of Richmond, Ind.; three daughters, Donald (Rosalie) Smith of Indianapolis, Mrs. Cliff (Shirley) Taylor of Lebanon and Mrs. Frank (Dorothea) Micheal of Rockville; the mother, Mrs. Louise Hill Ward of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Ed (Mary Ella) Wilson, also of Indianapolis; two brothers, Wayne Hill of Terre Haute and Everett Mansey of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. A brother, Dale, preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Judson Baptist Church. The body will be brought to the church one hour before services. Friends may call at the Machledt & Servies Funeral Home in Waveland after 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery at Waveland. – jlr
