Mrs. Charles Shepherd died at 6:15 o’clock Tuesday evening, September 8, at her home two miles north of New Richmond. Mrs. Shepherd was first taken ill in March, 1918, though she had improved greatly she had since remained an almost hopeless invalid. Two weeks ago she began growing gradually worse until the end came. Fannie Kirkpatrick, youngest child of Jacob and Amanda A. Kirkpatrick, was born at the old Kirkpatrick home north or Sugar Grove, May 25, 1875. She was married to Charles B. Shepherd November 25, 1897. To this union were born two children who with iier husband survive her— Edwin, 14; Frances, 12. She is also survived by three brothers and three sisters—Charles and Will Kirkpatrick of New Richmond, Edwin Kirkpatrick of Frankfort, Laura Kirkpatrick and Mrs. Anna McMillin of New Richmond, and Mrs. Sue Barcus of Crawfordsville. Her aged father also survives her; the mother having preceded her to the grave in 1887 Mrs. Shepherd was a true type of womanhood, a good wife and mother, loving and much beloved. She had a host of friends who mourn with her family and relatives in their great loss. Mrs. Shepherd became a Christian in her youth when she joined the Methodist church at Sugar Grove. During all her long and trying illness, never complaining, her Christian fortitude carried her through. The funeral will occur from the home this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o’clock. The funeral service will be in charge of Rev. Henry D. Dick, pastor of the New Richmond Methodist Church. Interment will be made in the Sugar Grove cemetery. – kbz
