SHELTON, Richard B. - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Services for Richard B. Shelton, age 82, New Ross were June 11 at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown.  He died June 9 in Culver Union Hospital, Crawfordsville.  Rev. William Schalk officiated.  Burial was in the Ladoga Cemetery.  Born July 25, 1911 in Montgomery County, he was a son of Ben and Charlotte (Downs) Shelton.  He graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1929 and attended Butler University.  He married Mary Louise Damewood on July 6, 1938 at Crawfordsville.  She survives.  Mr. Shelton retired from RCA in 1976.  From 1976 to 1981 he worked for JC Penney.  He also operated a garage in New Ross for several years.  He was a member of the New Ross Christian Church of which he was an elder.  Survivors in addition to his widow, are a daughter, Carol Cronk of Terre Haute; three grandchildren Heather Clodfelter, Heath Clodfelter and Joshua Cronk; a nephew, Robert E. Shelton of Costa Rica and a niece, Margaret Hybarger of Indianapolis.  --- transcribed by  kbz
