Shelley - Jessie Tribby

New Richmond, Dec 21 - Mrs. Jessie Tribby Shelly died Friday morning at Greencastle after a week's illness from influenza. Mrs. Shelly was born in New Richmond Jan 2, 1870 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Tribby. She was married 15 years ago to William Shelley. After her marriage she and her husband went to Santiago, Chile, as missionaries and taught in the girls and boys schools at that place. they made several trips back to the states and four years ago Mrs. Shelley's sister Miss Ruth Tribby returned to Chile with them and is there at the present time. This fall Mr. and Mrs. Shelley returned to New Richmond and later moved to Greencastle where their two children could have good school advantages. Only one week ago she was taken sick with influenza . She is survived by her husband and two children, her father, James Tribby of New Market and two brothers, George of Georgetown Ill and Emery of Indianapolis and three sisters, Mrs. Etta Archer, of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Mary Pierce of Round Hill and Ruth in Chile. Mrs. Shelley has lived in New Richmond all her life prior to going to South America. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Greencastle. Burial will be made at Greencastle.
