VEEDERSBURG — Wallace Shell, 71, a retired New York Central Railroad employe, died at 9 p.m. Monday in his home on Rt. 1, Hillsboro. A native of Veedersburg, he was born Aug. 3, 1902, a son of George and Dora Wallace Shell. He was married to Verna Madge Carey in 1938 at Veedersburg. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Kay Watkins of Bloomington, Ill.; his mother, of Ladoga; a brother, James F. of Dayton, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Jones of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Freda Oakley of Evansville, Mrs. Bernice McGraw of Salem, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Fairchild of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Parham Funeral Home here with the Rev. Glen Youngblood officiating. Burial will be in Bonebrake Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday. --typed by Walt W
