At an early hour Monday morning, occurred the death of little Ethel, only child of Evan and Zella Shelby, of Linden.
Ethel had been a sufferer of scarlet fever for almost two weeks and as we gazed on her little form enclosed in her beautiful white casket, we could not but think how sweet and peaceful her features were compared with the last few days of suffering. Although she was but a mere child, little Ethel Shelby had many friends. She was so loving, gentel and affectionate that everyone knew her only to love her. Her death is a sad blow to her father and mother but they have the assurance that their darling is with the angels and that she is infinitely more happy than she could have been here. Her parents have the sympathy of the entire neighborhood in their sad bereavement. We would commend them to Him who saith, “My grace is sufficient for you.”
