Sharp - Ira Alvah

Mr. Alvah SHARP, 83 a former resident of Waveland died Tuesday morning at 1 at his home in Montezuma. He was born Sept 24, 1866 to Isaac and Mary Ann Eastlack Sharp, near Waveland. He was one of 10 children 9 boys and a duaghter all of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Sharp was a tinner by trade and owned a tin shop until a year ago which he operated in Montezuma. Mr. Sharp had lived in Montezuma 50 years, where he died after only an illness of two weeks. In 1921, he was married to Miss Nellie Spencer, by the Rev. JC Whitson, who officiated at the funeral this afternoon in the Montezuma Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Montezuma cemetery. Besides the widow, there are only 6 nephews and 6 nieces who survive his going, among whom are: Ira J. Sharp and Wilmer Sharp of Waveland; Mrs. Mary Sharp McGaughey of Russellville; also Mrs. Margaret Louise Miller; Mrs. Dale Evans and Little Pamela Sharp, great nieces.
