Mabel V. Shanklin Mabel V. Shanklin, 93, of Lane House Nursing Home, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Culver Hospital. Mrs. Shanklin was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Who’s Your Ancestor Genealogical Society, Dorothy Q. Chapter, DAR, Daughters of American Colonists and the Montgomery County Historical Society. She had been a Montgomery County recorder for several years. Born Feb. 2, 1888, near Waynetown, she was a daughter of John M and Sarah Wert Jordon. She was graduated from Waynetown High School. In 1910, she married John Warner Sidener, who preceded her in death. In 1921, she married Harry S. Shanklin, who also preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Beecher (Edith) Young of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Mabel Pinkerton of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandsons, Phillip, Allen and Tom Young; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Austin Sidener. Services are at 2 p.m. Friday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Jump officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
