Oxford – Darwin L. Shamp, 74, 302 E. Wilson St, died in Edgewoodview Nursing Home, Oxford, at 3:50 p.m. Friday after an illness of three months. Born in Fountain County, he had farmed all his life in Tippecanoe County. He was married in 1935 at Attica to Helen B. Mitton and also she survives. Also surviving are four daughters: Mrs. George (Marjorie) Robinette of Otterbein; Mrs. Rondel (Wilma) Blenkenship of Romney; Mrs. Clovis (Betty) Smith of Lafayette and Mrs. Kenneth (Marilyn) Smith of Oxford; two sons, Donald L Shamp, Sr of Williamsport and Larry D. Shamp, Lafayette; six sisters: Mrs. Fay Phillips of Rossville, Ill; Mrs. Tressie Miles of Wingate; Mrs. Leroy (Golda) Hickman of Frankfort; Mrs. Joene Jeffers of Williamsport; Mrs. Mildred Craft of Attica and Mrs. James (Edith) Jones of West Point and two brothers, George Shamp of Williamsport and Chester Shamp of Wingate

Funeral Notices – Shamp, Darwin L – Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Johnston Funeral Chapel, Otterbein. Funeral at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Johnston Chapel, Paul Smith from Church of Christ, West Lafayette officiating. Interment Montmorenci Cemetery. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and one great grandson. - kbz
