Laurence Shaffer, of Alamo, was killed last week in a sawmill at Jonesboro Ark. where he was working.

Captain George R. Brown last Friday received a telegram from Henry Alfrey, at Jonesboro, Ark., stating that Lawrence Shaffer, of this county, had been accidentally killed at the saw mill there Thursday. The body was in a condition which would not permit of its shipment home, so it will be buried in good style at Jonesboro. The young man was a son of Lawrence Shaffer, living near Alamo. He was quite a popular young fellow and the news of his death will be received with great regret by those who knew him. - thanks to S for this additional and better obit :)
