Helen M. Shubert, 74, of 600 W. Pike St. died Monday afternoon in Culver Hospital. She and her husband had operated the Shubert Grocery on Lafayette Avenue for many years. Mrs. Shubert was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church. She was born June 22, 1899 in Montgomery County, a daughter of Albert and Eva Cunningham Wilhelm. She married Joseph Shubert on Dec. 22, 1915. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Joseph of Tucson, Ariz., and Guy of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Lowell (Betty) Holt of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Guy Tremaine officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
